DO
YOU FEEL THERE IS NO HOPE
In
your times of deep despair,
Do
you feel there is no hope?
As
the darkness closes in on you,
Do
you feel you cannot cope?
As
you struggle on through every trial,
Do
you say "When will it end"?
As
you cry yourself to sleep at night,
Do
you wish you had a friend?
When
your body's racked with aches and pains,
Do
you feel you are alone?
When
you think about the future,
Do
you fear the great unknown?
There
is someone who really cares,
And
He hears your every cry.
His
arms are reaching out to you,
And
on Him you can rely.
When
things close in around you,
He
sees your fear and doubt –
He
wants to hold you in His arms,
And
He will never cast you out.
As
you stumble through the darkness,
He
will be your guiding light.
He
wants to wipe away your tears,
For
you are precious in His sight.
Reach
out right now to Jesus,
And
let Him take control –
He'll
take that heavy burden,
And
He'll touch and make you whole.
He's
reaching out His arms to you,
And
He wants to be your friend.
Let
Him take you in His loving arms,
For
His love will never end.

GOD'S
LOVE IS LIKE. . .
God's
love is like the summer rain,
For
it will flood your very soul...
It
will cleanse you; it will heal you;
It
will touch you and make you whole.
God's
love is like a fountain –
From
it living waters pour.
As
you stand beneath its constant stream,
Your
wounded heart it will restore.
God's
love is like a gentle breeze
As
it blows upon your face.
It
will soothe you and refresh you,
And
fear and doubt it will erase.
God's
love is like a fortress,
So
mighty and so strong.
Within
its walls He'll shelter you
When
the nights are dark and long.
God's
love is like a harbour –
A
haven from the storm –
And
there you'll find a refuge
For
the battered and the torn.
God's
love is like a river,
For
it never will run dry.
In
His love you'll find such joy and peace,
And
HIS LOVE WILL NEVER DIE.

THE
POWER OF WORDS
Words
have far greater power
Than
this world will ever know,
For
they can heal the broken-hearted
And
cause the small and weak to grow.
They
give hope to the tired and discouraged,
When
said with a warm, loving smile,
And
they can strengthen the step of the weary
As
they travel that last rugged mile.
Yes,
words can lift up the spirits
Of
those who are bowed with despair,
For
words can fill them with courage,
Because
they show them how much you care.
Gentle
words spoken at just the right time
Can
soften a cold, hardened heart,
And
in the dark times of doubt and of fear,
Strength,
joy and peace they impart.
So
think carefully about each word that you speak,
And
how somebody may be affected,
For
words can also kill and destroy,
If
by love they have not been perfected.
So
speak only words that encourage
And
cause others in God's love to grow –
Yes,
speak only words of hope and of life
So
the power of God's love will show.

I have been a born-again Christian for over 25 years now, and although it has been
a long, rough road I have travelled over that time, the Lord has always brought
me through. In times of doubt and sorrow, He has been there to lift me up,
and in times of sickness and pain, He has been there to take the burden from me.
Although I suffer from chronic pain and illness, and have done so for many years,
the joy of the Lord still fills my heart, and I know that He will never leave me
or forsake me, because that is what He says in His Word, and I know it is true,
because He cannot lie. So, no matter what I am going through, and no
matter how much the cares of the world weigh in on me, I know that if I reach
out to the Lord, He is always there, waiting to take me in His arms and comfort
me and keep me safe. I encourage you to reach out to Him right now and ask
Him to do the same for you, and I promise that, if you do, He will take you into
His arms and will never leave you. I pray that the words the Lord has
given me to write in these poems will touch each and every person who reads them
and will bless them in some small way. God bless you all, and peace be
with you.
