JESUS’ TENDER CARE

I look down with tender care
Upon My children everywhere!
I understand your fragile belief
That truly I will bring relief.

For tho your heart is inadequate
To leave Love’s timing to Me,
I consider the root of your doubt and fear --
I’ll therefore prove to you that I can set you free!

At this hour I hear you pray
For steadfast hope to believe what I say:
That My promise is sure and strong.
But such will help you endure Pain’s throng!

For tho your emotions are still quite frail
To meet the standard of perfection,
All I ask is that you act in honesty --
In turn, I grant you My abundant affection!

I look down with enveloping love
To lead Mine own to Heaven Above!
I guide you always along the Path of Prayer,
That always you’d sense My compassion and care.

For tho the journey seems sometimes filled
With roads that seem untrue,
As you continue, you will behold
That the road led toward freedom for you!

KEEP CHRIST AS YOUR FIRST LOVE

Keep Christ as your first love,
Tho many are proven true;
Neglect not the gracious compassion
He mercifully bestows on you!

For neither friends nor sweethearts
Can take the place of His love --
To fling Him aside for their comfort
Is to forfeit peace born of Above!

For surely your faithful comrades
Will seek to encourage your heart;
But if God's love comes second,
The joy of His presence will soon depart.

And no earthly devotion can take the place
For what you had in Him.
Keep Christ as your first love
Lest your soul be dark and grim.

But to cherish Christ first
Is to be filled with joy and peace;
Then the devotion of the others
Will bring happiness ne'er to cease!

So take not His love for granted,
So their care you'll treasure;
Then, when comes darling of your dreams,
Your joy will transcend beyond measure!

Embrace Our Neighbor As Our Own Soul

How must Jesus’ heart be in pain --
For with ev’ry prejudice, His soul is slain!
His Church who was meant to minister unto all
Instead breeds discord, denying Its call!

But Jesus never engaged in doctrinal strife --
He showed us Charity should be our way of life!
To embrace our neighbor as our own soul:
This is the way to fulfill that goal!

How must Jesus’ soul be wounded within --
For with every dispute, He beholds our sin!
His Bride who was chosen to nurture with care,
Instead promotes snobbishness, refusing to share!

But Jesus never judged one by the prestige one held dear;
Only that that one would to His grace draw near.
We must embrace our neighbor as our own soul:
This is the way for us to be whole!

How must Jesus’ spirit be crushed with dismay --
For when we cut off our brother, from us He must stray!
His children who were meant to receive aid for their need,
Instead find each brother puffed up in middle class greed!

So, tho Jesus cares beyond comprehension,
To those who sow discord, He won’t grant condescension.
But, if we’d embrace our neighbor as our own soul,
He’d again come to our pleadings, restoring us whole.
